Robert's first influence in photography came when his brother Francis gave him a 35mm camera when he was 13 years old. He says he was lucky to get one good picture per roll while he learned the art of manual photography. Initially his interest was to capture moments in time as well as to bring interesting images to others who may not be able to get out and see what he saw. He won a few Fine Art contests and began selling pictures while in college. He entered the Peace Corps and finally settled in La Quinta, California.

For the last 17 years he has been an educator earning a Master's Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. He has been shuffled around schools for the last five years due to budget cuts in elementary for he lost seniority when he changed school districts in order to be closer to his children. This uncertaintity has lead him into working in Commercial Photography as well as continuing his passion for FIne Art Photography.

The Fine Art images he takes are influenced heavily by Ansel Adams, Salvador Dali, and M.C. Escher. From studying their art he has learned to capture images that are simple, eccentric, and eclectic. While growing up in New Mexico he learned about natural beauty, contrast, and natural light.

He receives a lot of support from his beautiful wife, Katherine, and four children, Gabriella, Bryana, Makai, and Eliziah. He appreciates the continued support and encouragement from all his family and friends.
